Providing fine balance between academics, religion, and character development.
Our Academics.
As one of the oldest and accredited Brevard catholic schools, Our Lady of Lourdes School is committed to providing students with a challenging yet rewarding academic curriculum. Our students not only receive a high-caliber education that will prepare them for the rigors of high school, but also one that will strengthen their faith in God and help them deal with the pressures that they will undoubtedly face as they mature.
Teachers of all subject areas plan lessons to allow for cross-curricular linking of topics.
Catholic social teachings are incorporated into all subject areas.
Use of technology is incorporated into all subject areas.
Instructional techniques are used to reach children of every learning style. Learning is student-centered. Examples include but are not limited to individualization, small group instruction, large group instruction, departmentalization, computerized instruction and cooperative learning. All grouping arrangements are made in view of the learning needs of individual students
The Sadlier We Believe Religion Series, grades K-8, is a spiral, integrated and thematic curriculum that presents the key concepts of faith each year in a deeper and broader way as the student grows more capable of understanding and living in discipleship. We Believe also encourages understanding of major faith statements, catechism connections, scripture, saints, and devotions. In addition to the Religion Series, we also use the Sadlier Virtues Program which promotes Catholic identity so young disciples follow Jesus Christ. Each week a different virtue is promoted and infused in all of our teachings. For more information on our curriculum, please click the button below.

Student Services
The mission of the Student Services Program at Our Lady of Lourdes is to prepare every student socially, spiritually, physically, academically, and emotionally for whatever challenges he/she may face. Students are provided an opportunity to gain a better understanding of themselves and others, and to engage in educational and occupational exploration. It is important that all aspects of the program exist in a safe, caring, and encouraging environment. Accelerated and Summer Reading
Our Lady of Lourdes School uses the Accelerated Reader program. Many more of the 9,000 titles in our library collection have quizzes available. Students and their parents will be able to access information about books through their home computer using AR Bookfinder at www.arbookfind.com.
Using the Quick search, any title, author name, or keyword you type will pull up all titles related to those words. Select the tab marked Advanced search and the user can search based on the child’s reading level (ATOS book level). Another great feature is the ability to filter out books whose content is inappropriate for your child’s age level. To do this, select a category from the drop down-box next to “Interest Level.” The choices will be:
Lower Grades (LG) – K-3
Middles Grades (MG) – 4-8
Upper Grades (UG) – 9-12*
*Titles that are marked as upper grades or UG will not be available as quizzes at our school, nor will the books be available in our library.
These interest levels are based on the recommendations of the publisher and/or literary book reviews by professional organizations. The final decision on whether the content of the book is appropriate for a particular child is left to parents.
